Duplicate content is becoming an increasing issue for popular search engines. Without doubt it's something any self-respecting webmaster should be aware of, and the fact that Google is starting to become more focused on the issue.......for that reason alone they need to take note.

Pageranking and Backlinks
By: Sean Frederick Hyde, Thu Aug 2nd, 2007
Why are Backlinks and Pageranking so important?
Pageranking is very important to all Webmasters, as a low Pagerank could mean that you will not be found in most search engines. The more Backlinks you have to your site, the higher the Pagerank, the more visitors you will get to your website. It is very important to Webmasters to have their link loading on other websites with a high Pagerank, this will in turn increase your Pagerank.
